5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely worth paying a weirdly high cost for a candle, October 18, 2017

I buy a new candle every time I see my current candle getting low. It's a rule that prevents me from having too many. These candles make me want to break that rule. I've bought two Paddywax candles now, same size, same style, and I don't think I'll ever get a different brand.

This one in particular was my favorite, because I think water/sea/beach smells are a little less abrasive than other typical candle fragrances. True to my expectation, this candle delivers a relaxing, light scent that matches the description. It doesn't smell 'cheap' in that it's neither overpowering or unnoticeable.

These candles in general burn very slowly, and that's impressive considering that I let my candles burn anywhere from half an hour to several hours a day. I still have both candles, partly because I want to keep this one forever! Fortunately, though, when it inevitably burns off I know they are reasonably priced, and leave you with a cute glass jar when they're done.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Candle, February 17, 2014

The look and the scent are amazing.
I love high end candles-- Paddywax, Voluspa and Trapp-- but I have to say so far this candle has not burned down evenly-- I am a wick trimmer and do the most to keep my candles burning the best-- the lump that won't burn just bums me out. I think the wick is not centered and I don't think I'm getting the most out of this candle. Wish the quality matched the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like the ocean, February 28, 2017

I live in the Midwest, and I visit Southern California as often as I can for family. I'm sure if you're looking at this candle, you're wanting the scent of the salty ocean water and beaches inside your home or office at work, like I did.

Firstly, the size of this candle is small. So if you're super confident about purchasing it, I'd go up a size.

Secondly - and this may be because of its size - the scent it puts off is entirely too faint. Unless you're within a foot of the candle, you probably won't smell anything.

Even more disappointing, the okay-ish smell it puts off isn't anything like the ocean or beach. I have yet to find a candle that does, actually.
